fencing to protect your property from ticks

Each year, tick awareness is increased. With the spread of Lymes disease and the increasing number of other diseases that these little insects spread, people are doing more to put a stop to the ticks from invading their outdoor living areas. If you have deer that are constantly passing through your property, you could have an increased number of ticks infesting your lawn. This was an issue that I was having. After having a fence installed to keep the deer out of my yard, I have seen far fewer ticks and have not picked one off of myself or my kids. Find out more about protecting your property from ticks by installing fencing by going to my website.

Hiring A Fencing Contractor To Maintain Your Fence

Over time, a wood fence can begin to wear out. The wind can blow it down, the rain can damage wood, the sun can fade paint and many other things can happen. You may not want to replace the whole fence because that can be very costly. Another option would be to hire a fence contractor and have them come repair the fence. Below are a few of the services that a fencing contractor will be able to do so that your old fence looks as good as new and can stand up to whatever mother nature throws at it.

  1. Add or Reinforce Posts. Over time, the fence posts can begin to wear down. This is due to wind pushing against them, shifting in the ground around them, and other environmental factors. If the posts begin to deteriorate, the whole fence can go down. A fence contractor will be able to reinforce the posts or add more for stability. By placing concrete around the base of the post, they are more likely to hold up against the wind. More posts can be added every couple of feet to increase the integrity of the whole fence.
  2. Painting and Staining. Many fences look very old and it appears like there is no fixing them. It is actually quite amazing what a little paint or fence staining can do to the look of the fence. A fencing contractor will be able to come to your home, remove the excess paint that is peeling from the fence, sand down any rough parts of the fence and paint it or seal it. Not only does this make the fence look a lot better, but the fresh coat of stain will protect the wood from the elements. This is great because the wood will not become warped from water, sun damage will be reduced, and the lifespan of the fence will be increased.
  3. Replacing Wooden Planks. Another way that a fencing contractor can keep your fence looking new is to replace the wooden planks that are destroyed. It seems like each year, there will be some planks that will need to be replaced because of some sort of damage. The fencing contractor will be able to replace the planks and paint or stain them to match the rest of the fence.

By hiring a fencing contractor from a place like Arbor Fence Co Inc to help take care of your fence on a regular basis, you can prevent having to replace the entire fence which can be more costly.
